My True Love Gave to Me, 12 Holiday Stories edited by Stephanie Perkins
I have a hard time getting into short stories because I feel that there is no real way of developing anything, but I decided to give this a shot. There were a few that I absolutely loved, but most of the ones I got through, I felt very meh about. I definitely disliked more than I liked, which was the main reason why I couldn't finish the book. I might re-read the one I really loved, then try and finish off the last few I didn't. But not until the holidays of course.

Fahrenheit 451 by Ray Bradbury
I was really disappointed in this one because it was just so boring and pretty confusing. I had been meaning to, and looking forward to, reading this book for such a long time. I borrowed an audiobook (thankfully) from the library and the narrator and the story bored me to tears. I could not concentrate on the book, and the world building was confusing. The story takes place in a dystopian world that burns books but there was no explanation to this world or what was going on at the beginning so I felt ugh about the whole thing. I couldn't finish this one and it made me so sad.

In Honor by Jessi Kirby
I've read other of Kirby's books and while I normally love contemporary YA, I have a hard time enjoying hers. I get a feeling that she tries too hard with the fun, wondrous adventures her characters always seem to be on. Don't get me wrong, I enjoy learning about these places (which exist in real life) but I think that her books are all very similar. I couldn't get into this story and even though it was a short book, I found myself not wanting to pick it up.
